Gambling should be entertainment you can afford — never a way to make money or escape problems. Most players stay in control; some don’t. This page helps you keep it fun and get help fast if it stops being fun.

Signs to watch for

  • Betting more than you can afford to lose, or chasing losses.
  • Borrowing money or selling things to gamble.
  • Gambling interfering with work, sleep or relationships.
  • Feeling anxious, guilty or unable to stop.

Tools you can use right now

  • Deposit limits — cap what you can put in per day, week or month.
  • Loss & wager limits — set a ceiling on losses or total stakes.
  • Cool-off periods — lock yourself out for 24 hours to 6 weeks.
  • Self-exclusion — close access for months or permanently.
Important for offshore sites: the operators we review are not part of any U.S. state self-exclusion program (like a state voluntary exclusion list). You set limits and self-exclusion with the operator directly in your account settings. If you self-exclude with your state, that does not automatically block offshore sites — you must set it up at each operator.

Protecting minors

You must be at least 18 or 21 to gamble, depending on the operator. Keep account credentials away from anyone underage, and consider filtering software (GamBan, Net Nanny) if needed.
