Bet types explained
A moneyline is a straight bet on who wins. A point spread handicaps the favorite so both sides sit near −110. Totals (over/under) bet on combined score. Props cover individual player or game events, parlays combine legs for a bigger payout (all must win), teasers shift the spread in your favor for lower odds, and futures bet on season-long outcomes like a championship.
Sports and leagues you can bet on
Offshore books cover everything the regulated apps do and more: the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and NCAA football and basketball, plus soccer (EPL, Champions League, MLS), UFC/MMA, boxing, tennis, golf, motorsport and a deep esports menu (CS2, LoL, Dota 2). Many also run a racebook for horse racing.
Odds formats explained
U.S. books default to American odds: −110 means risk $110 to win $100; +150 means a $100 bet wins $150. Decimal odds (common on soccer) show total return per $1 — 2.50 returns $2.50. Fractional odds (5/2) show profit-to-stake. Most offshore books let you switch formats in settings, so pick whichever you read fastest.
Understanding the juice (vig) and line shopping
The juice (or vig) is the book’s built-in margin — the reason a coin-flip bet is priced −110, not even money. Offshore books often cut it to −105 or run reduced-juice days, which is real money over a season. Line shopping — comparing the same bet across two or three books for the best number — is the single highest-ROI habit in betting.
Live and in-play betting
Live (in-play) betting lets you wager while a game is happening, with odds that update in real time as the score and momentum shift. The best offshore books refresh lines fast and offer cash-out, letting you settle a bet early for a locked profit or reduced loss before the final whistle.
Is offshore sports betting safe?
The established books have long payout records — BetOnline since 2004, BetUS since 1994 — and are licensed offshore (Curaçao, Panama, Costa Rica). What they don’t have is a U.S. state regulator to appeal to, so an operator’s track record is your safety net. Stick to books with a documented history, deposit in crypto, and verify your account before your first withdrawal.
